Another way for eheim to make a little extra cash. Those single taps are utter sh!?. Impossible to clean or swoons filter without getting water everywhere!

Hi guys.. I have 2 single eheim 12mm taps and I want to upgrade to 2x double taps..
Now looking at the photos on ebay they just look like to single taps pushed together and joined with a small grey thread bit to connect them.. can i just order another 2 single taps and join them together some...
Alfagrog is cheap and popular. Also ceramic bio rings with a couple of filter sponges will work :-) prefer this to filter moss as it's easier to rinse.

I maybe completely wrong... But I think the bacteria may of definitely multiplied over and over.. I'm assuming it would be perfect conditioning for bacteria? But that's just me on a whim lol who knows

I have just bought two filters 2213's for a great price.. No media though. I wad looking on Ebay and all the eheim filter media is quite a lot.. Is there a way around this? I'm assuming I don't have to use eheim products surely? Any advice how to fill me filters on the cheap?

I Think we will have to agree to disagree on that one buddy. IMO low tech is to grow plants with very little input. I guess this is just opinion based though. I believe if your providing additional fertilizer then I believe it becomes high tech. The el natural style suggests of...
Merry xmas Mate, sounds great what your doing but I'm confused a little, u say you want to make a lower tech tank and then say u aim to use Fertz and co2? The moment u begin to manually fertilize your plants is the moment it becomes high tech? I don't believe there is such thing as a middle tech...
Yeah exactly Mate, and as u say the screw fitting point would tighten it anyhow. I know the 2217 is the same pipe sizing as the 2213 so we will be fine, I'm sure.

I'm not sure it's an upgrade to be honest, as I said previously it's good for what it is and does the job, but will never stand up to an external. I have better internal filters but their too intrusive so never use them. So as a temporary filter until I sort out something else their fine :-)...
Never had issues with this Tim, mine came with plastic guides u can direct across the surface not directly down :-)

There pretty average, I have bought them whilst I save for externals, they do the job, slightly noisy when water levels drop though. But for 10 quid a pop I'm not crying

ok nice one.. but I have decided to go for the eheim 2215. As I managed to get 2 of these for 70 quid.. I have 13mm lily pipes on the way so I assume I just get adapter size connector things to join from one size to another? I have never had eheim so just curious..
Ady,I got a brand new set of lily pipe cleaners I got from China, never used cost me around 10 quid overall. I have two sets so if u want the unused set, (about 5 sizes) their yours. Just pay postage and I'll pay them forward mate

I'll second the 305, as for 10x the amount, correct me if I'm wrong but the 305 chucks out 1400lph so more than enough for a 3ft tank. Assume it's 3ft due to the 100L capacity lol. I used to have one on a 103L tank for a year with a turtles frogs etc did an amazing Job. I know dan Crawford...
Where would u buy clear acrylic tubing from? I definitely prefer a spray bar to a lily pipe but have stuck with lily pipes for the basic reason that the doesn't is over dominant. A clear spraybar would definitely work nicely.

This area is very debatable.. People will say flow is more important than anything others will say co2 etc. it depends on the tank style you opt for. I have 4 low tech nano walstad tanks that use lighting and Fertz but no co2 or filtration. I up my water changes and do thorough MAintainable...
Yes I would like it to be a canister so I can keep my tank empty and clean. Thanks for the list. I will see if these are external
:-)

I had a fluval 305 with two turtles and had it a year. Couldn't of wished for a better filter. Absolutely amazing. I know its not the 06 range but its fluvial and people don't like them. I wanna say I had two turtles with mine!
Top notch :-)

yeah without doubt! I think ADA are getting silly lol how can your everyday person afford that.. ridiculous lol. its like mac and pc... only, there are pc's out there that would obliterate mac on spec... same thing i guess. people want ada because its ada. not because of what it is.. this is my...
funny you should say that as I breed bearded dragons and have done for a while, I have a few heat mats laying around and did think it may be worth a try... as for the heater issue, I do infact need a heater as I wish to breed crystal shrimp. I know you can keep them in water as low as 17-18...
thanks but i cant help thinking that 300w heater is far to much for my 30cm nano?? and how would I connect this to my tank if I currently have a mini external filter? The 300w hydor's are 16mm piping inlets aren't they?
Hi everyone!!
Need some help with heating my nano... I have orded a resun cyclone external filter and now Im trying to decide how on earth I can heat my nano tank with out using an internal 25w heater?? my tank is 30x30x30cm roughly. any information will help completely!
Thanks
JACk :)
eventually Im going to invest in an external heater but unfortunately this hobby can be quite expensive so everything takes time... thanks for the advice, Ill check it out :)
After setting up a 3ft iwagumi Im ready for another different challenge. I want to embark on a new project involving. 45cm x 30cm. X 30cm tank but am unsure as of which size heater to use? Am i right in thinking as its only a small tank with a ex600 or fluval 205 that a 25w heater should...
I have just been offered an ex600 tetra tec external filter for just 20 quid?
my tank size is 45cm length x 30 high and 30 deep. so my question is do you think the 600 would be suitable or just simply over powering?
Thanks so much for your help! Sounds ideal. And yeah my fluval 305 was a two pin. But i must say its a year old and its absolutely amazing. Crystal clear and consistently may i add! Great response guys, thanks a lot :-)
Is the tetra tek really a good investment? Can anyone 2s this opinion?
Jack
Hi every one. Need some good hard honest advice. Im planning no setting up a new nano tank but am unsure about small external filters that will do the job but not burn a rocket hole in pocket. I have been offered a fluval 203 for just ten quid. Do i take it and see what i can afford after some...
I see your all talking about lily pipes from gUSH or ADA or other well known brands but I couldn't help noticing the pricing to all these lily pipes. I have a set of 16-17mm lily pipes on my 3ft planted aquarium and I got the inlet and outlet glass piping from eBay. think together it was 29.99...
