If its a dry start method aim for about 12 hours, could even up it to about 16 if you could deal with the light being on that time. Don't bother with the break in the photo period. As ceg would say.. Say hasta la vista to the siesta :-) Cheers! Jack :-)

the 18w arc pods are more sturdy, to be honest I know a few people with them and never had any issues? I do agree their very hard to put together though! was worried it would snap! lol

As for height, only u can determine that by the overall outcome of the tank. As said above, best to suspend it so height can be altered if needed. Mine is not suspended so I took a t5 bulb out to reduce lighting. Jack Sent from my Nexus 7
