Eheim 2260 - Custom Intake & Spray Bar

I am no filter or flow expert but I would imagine the spray bar would need to be shortest to maximise pressure. You don't want a too long intake though as it can make it awkward to prime. Personally I would have the 2260 on one side with in/outlet on same side, and another filter on other side...

    Cooling tanks down

A quick & easy solution on smaller tanks that I have used is to freeze 2lt or larger bottles of water, put it in the tank and it can help a fair amount.

Aquarium Controllers / Computers in the planted aquarium.

I use the Aquatronica on my discus tank. I don't use it to control the co2, i have that on a timer programme to keep a constant flow in the tank. U can see some more info here on what i use it for - viewtopic.php?f=35&t=571&start=80

    automated fert dosing

Aquatronica do a repair service if your product is out of waranty, they have exceptional after sales service IME. Ive had mine for nearly a year, next month, and so far i have had no problems. After using both, the AQ is far easier to use, alot more accurate and the build quality is impressive...

    Inline Equipment

Or... I could just get an internal that i have spare and stuff it with purigen, its only a temporary soloution for the first few months while the tank matures.. less risky too IMO James

    Inline Equipment

Good idea, I have seen a few DIY projects online of co2 reactors, something on those lines would do the job i recon..? But if i could like you say use some quick disconnects, which i already have, and stuff a section of the return pipe with some purigen for eg that would be easy + you would see...

    Inline Equipment

Anyone know of something i could add inline on my filter setup where i could add say for example some purigen, carbon or whatevber needed? This would be ideal for me as getting out my eheim 2260 is a big job.. Thanks, James

    automated fert dosing

No, unfortunatley not, it is quality though.. But, it is modular so you can buy bits every now and then which spreads the cost out.. i bought my setup in around 6 months, dont regret it and i am sure most people on here wouldnt either :D James

    automated fert dosing

I use to have the aqua medic twin dosing pump, was ok, but no where as good as the aquatronica one i use. I actually never trusted it and had quite a few problems. Here is some information on it and the system, you need the controller to use the pump, as that is just one of the modules. Very...

    Purigen

Thanks for the feedback, I think i will go for a mix of your opinions. The tank is a high tech setup with an ADA substrate / media from a 1yr 2217 & 18lt of used AS, so that will feed the filter right away, but i think i will give it a week to 10 days to help cycle. I would go with Daves view...

    Purigen

Anyone here used this on a new setup? I saw George mentioned it would be an idea for him. I have it currently on my 180lt dicsus tank, but thats getting closed down as soon as the 800lt is cycled.. Just thought that it may interfere with the cycling? Probably a good thing to add it after a...

I am waiting delivery on my optiwhite tank from Aquariums Ltd, which should be with me next week.. I was quoted £70 for the front pane for the optiwhite (6.5') and got the sides done aswel. I also spoke to them quite a bit regarding the tank and stand design, sent them drawings and scethches...
