    Dry powders with non EI?

Thanks guys. The tank was coming along nicely until last week when i changed my FE and the co2 levels have been up and down like a tarts knickers and i've got algae everywhere. :x :x I have managed to keep it fairly steady over the last couple of days at a higher level and carried on with the...

    Dry powders with non EI?

Lesson learned, thanks Clive. I've just done my weekly 50% W/C and looking at my tank pearling and fish loving the new water, i reckon it wont hurt to take half hour out of my schedule every week for it (my back wont mind). Thanks for the info.

    Dry powders with non EI?

Yeah i know its great for being very forgiving in terms of how much dosing, i just dont know whether half dosing would be too little. My tank is massively stocked at the moment, The tetras: 14 embers 7 diamonds 6 rummynose 14 green neons 9 cardinals 8 black neon Also have a pair of laetecara...

    Dry powders with non EI?

Hello! I've got my dry powders, everything required for an all in one solution, but i'm thinking of just adding straight to the water via teaspoon measures. But as i have a 4 ft tank and a busy life  i dont think i could handle 50% weekly water changes, so... What sort of dry dosing could...

    How to make DIY TPN+?

Ok then. Thanks. Thinking I'm just going to make up a 500ml batch at a time. Was hoping to make larger amounts, but all the talk of iron insolubles forming. Sure doing a new batch every couple months won't be any great shakes.

    How to make DIY TPN+?

Didn't want to start a new thread, so I'll carry on in this one seeing as its the same subject. I'm about to start measuring up to make my own TPN+ and I'm just wondering what the epsom salts are for?

    Why dont nutrients cause algae?

I "Think" that isn't the kind of urea you're thinking of (pee pee) :) Its some organic compound which is used in beauty creams as well. So no ammonia.

    Seachem Flourish

Yes, I've just been reading it. Seems good for micronutrients but advices I get other sources for NPK. The tank will be well stocked... not understocked like and ADA tank or anything, so theres the nitrates. Guess a little dose of TPN+ every week?

    Seachem Flourish

Well I got my order from AE today. I wanted Excel but like a fool ordered the normal Flourish plant nutrition. Just wondering though, is it any good? Maybe for a low tech tank with Aqua Soil and easy plants.. ferns, anubis, crypts and echinodorus. Instructions says 5ml for every...

    Why dont nutrients cause algae?

So... like in my tank I have staghorn due to fluctuating Co2... If I, in a panic stop ferts, then rather than halting the problem of just having staghorn, i'll end up having green water etc aswell?

Right, I'm not really up for mixing enough just for 250-500ml. Anyone had any experience mixing up litres of this stuff? does it keep?

    How to make DIY TPN+?

Right so I can get this from AE: 10g Potassium Nitrate 1.0g Potassium Phosphate (monobasic) 4.0g Potassium Sulphate and obviously their trace elements mix. I can get distilled water no problem. And I'm guessing that epsom salts are the same as what you get from the chemist. But where do I...
