Re: GA in-store display 120P Iwagumi - Fly above the giant c
Why George? :D If he says he just hates all this since we opened for business then you're not gonna step foot into the Gallery not to scare your loved ones away from all this? :D
Who wants to see a mad Hungarian behind his desk? :D...
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 Iwawoody.
Wow, impressive Mark  (I just love the hardscape!) It will certainly be quite a setup. I do not see a problem with using a lot of plants as most of them here are carpeting or small growing ones. Using these together might help improve the natural look.
Btw...
Re: GA in-store display 120P Iwagumi
We have one 2 kg bottle powering all three nano-s with T-branches and needle valves dividing the gas... We had to mess around a lot to keep them steady, actually killing two Festo needle valves in the process. Turned out they were not very happy with the...
Re: GA in-store display 120P Iwagumi
I've been long telling my friends to get some red neon tetras for this tank. ;) They will look lovely later if we switch on the last two remaining Sylvania GroLux pinkish tubes that you can see missing from the reflection on the first picture. It will...
Re: GA in-store display 120P Iwagumi
Issues with AM1000 are these:
1. Due to the 9-12-16 mm decreasing size of its ends, if you plug it to a 16/22 hose it is advisable to cut the narrowing ends to keep the flow, so you basically keep only the 16/22 diameter on both ends of the reactor.
2. You...
Re: "Prairie Lands"...The return
Are you sure Mate? Your FG looks like Lilaeopsis Brasiliensis to me. So it made me suspicios over the Tenellus thing, and I came over this image, which - if I can read right - says you have Lilaeopsis... ;)  :D
You guys have achieved so much in such a short time. I guess the UKAPS has reached to a point where all (!) the biological, technical and spiritual info is present.
Many have reached a level of true aquascaping professionalism here and they just do not know how to continue. It's natural. Like...
Re: Saintly's 'savannah dreaming' @ 2 months
I can truly not see the difference between your shots and the ones I quoted, Mate, simply amazing HC. Lush and healthy. I would suggest you try to use larger aperture values with your photography (if lighting would permit), we would like to admire...
Re: My First Planted Tank "Never Ending Journal" Juwel Rio 1
Inspiring photos as always, Paulo! Must be great to sit on that coach looking to all that beauty. Threadfins are still the best little fish, I have to get some with this quality for my tanks.
The spotless health of you plants always amazes me Paulo. Great tank you've got there Mate!
Is that Anubias Petite in the middle of your last image? I've seen some at Interzoo, they look really fabulous. Great FG "spotting" plant or transition plant... And what happened to the Staurogyne?
Re: My First Planted Tank "Never Ending Journal" Juwel Rio 1
I think we just might have started the new fish-fashion here, Paulo. ;)
Cool images - I just love when males show off... (not in that way of course) :)
Re: My First Planted Tank "Never Ending Journal" Juwel Rio 1
Cheers Paulo, my Master! Welcome to the rainbow club. The quality of these fish are way better then what I got in Hungary. Gotta push the retailers here to go for the higher standards.
I found that there color is shown best if...
Re: Tonsers 200L Optiwhite
Oh, absolutely right, I did not think about the full frame factor here. Thanks!
Tony, the question for the 70mm usage still stands though.
Re: Tonsers 200L Optiwhite
Why did you use the lens at the 70mm end? Did you aim for a strong 2D experience?
My take - speculation really - is that it really helps the surreal impression of this particular super-clean scape that you accentuated the 2D feeling and avoided "bringing us into the...
Re: Tonsers 200L Optiwhite
How in the hell did you shoot that??? :) I demand you publish all the details: camera, lens, aperture, shutter, lighting specs, placement, etc.
Re: Tonsers 200L Optiwhite
Stunning photography, stunning wood shape, stunning composition. I saved those pictures in my "aquascapes" local folder - and that does not happen frequently. Tonser, your're the Man.
Re: My First Planted Tank - Juwel Rio 125
Hi Paulo, there's something I wanted to ask you for a long time now... What is the thinking behind the rest day after the water change? What do you need to put on rest in your tank? :)
My reasoning goes like this: if you put the rest day after the...
Sorry to hear about your Cardinals. Did you change anything in the tank maintenance regime? They were fine for months.
I did not see you mention it anywhere - do you use CO2 in your tank? I guess not.
Re: My First Planted Tank - Juwel Rio 125
Excellent scape mate  , it's a shame you published the full tank shot, now you won't be able to nominate it to the ADA. :)
Re: My First Planted Tank - Juwel Rio 125
What was it that annoyed you about your old setup? I don't get the "within the midle of the plants" part...
I am really excited and looking forward to see your new scape. You know it was this tank that in fact led me to the aquascaping "business"...
Re: My First Planted Tank - Juwel Rio 125
Oh, I'm missing something... :? What's on the wall with the suction cup (I know that's a Hydor Koralia) and what's the other on the gravel below? I thought both are pumps and was wondering why you need two.
Re: My First Planted Tank - Juwel Rio 125
I would love if you'd post an original size frontal image of your tank! I have a 1920x1200 display, it's a shame I can not get a full screen picture. Please... :)
Re: My First Planted Tank - Juwel Rio 125
Paulo, congrats, just saw this tank on Matt Clarke's 25 all-time-best-planted-tanks selection on PFK. Nice to see my favorite tank on that list.

Re: My First Planted Tank - Juwel Rio 125
First let me say that my following POW is absolutely subjective.
Contrary to the objectively justified necessity of a mid-ground transition - one of the things that I like about your tank is the fact that there is no transition. It leaves us with an...
Re: My First Planted Tank - Juwel Rio 125
Spelling error corrected, sry for that.
Glad you like my tank, I am certainly considering posting it here too. I agree with you completely: feedback is one of the most important things - there is so much to learn from those who have more...
Re: My First Planted Tank - Juwel Rio 125
Congrats, Paulo! I've been reading your blog for a couple of months now. Your tank was in fact one of maybe a handful to inspire me in setting up my own planted nano tank and a Juwel Vision 260.
I was wondering about your "glosso-trimming-vow" :) - of...
