Cheers ironically I was reading that thread this morning! I need to get to grips with duckweed index as I would like to try using that method. However at the moment I just mix my salts as per instructions and dose the quantity for my size tank. I wouldnt know where to start to get a 2ppm formula...
ahhhh cool. I never had any issue with plants when I ran high tech, so i want to get my low tech right first time. is there any tell tale signs that your dosing too much or too little? so from the above statement am I right to believe you dose three times a week (or more if needed)? and that...
Just a quickie.
Going from high tech to low tech and I am used to dosing every day.
What is the best way about dosing on a low tech? Im planning on reducing water changes down to once a week. would I be better dosing twice a week (say micro saturday and macro wednesday) at the same amount...
Well i have some ordered anyway. Out of curiosity with flourish you need to dose more on water change days. Is it the same with this as i change my water at least every other day...
Just realsed in my tank a bottle of excel is pointless. So ive just bout glutahyridjsbxbshbxjsj..... lol. Ill start off with a smaller dose and then ramp it up so i can monitor the discus. Does anyone know if it can be mixed in with my e.i mix?
Great advice cheers! At the time being i only wanted a small amount to check what the results would be like in my tank, (im assuming its fine in a discus tank?) However ive just moved and have nowhere to store the raw chemical in the house. I might splash out on a bottle of excel and when i get...
Ouch, that links around 40 quid including postage. Ive not looked into that product hut im assuming its like the basis of e.i..... in the long run it will save me more?
I want to take cegs advice and the advice from others and try dosing liquid carbon. My tanks around 275l and i just wanted to know whats a cheap option?
ahhh cool. i currently use it a lot on my phone and keep getting prompts for tapatalk. i dont really have much of a problem with the web browser its just sometimes a pain having to zoom in to hit the tabs you want and searching through posts ect.
From what ive read, theres a lot of people that do not run airstones in their discus tank. Personally I do because the breeder had air running 24/7 and it makes me worry less about running co2 when I have an airstone running. Im one of the lucky ones that gets co2 cheap so I xdont mind putting...
i dose everyday as per instructions. i do waterchanges every other day as i have discus and need to keep the water quality up. as standard my tap water has 30ppm of nitrates which is not good so my tank water only gets worse so i do as many as possible water changes. also i feed discus beefheart...
Well aside from a rest day I dose everyday. I make sure I do the water change in the morning so I can dose before lights on. Is there anything else I should be doing? Should I skip the rest day? the instructions say the same amount regardles of what stage of the cycle im in.......
I am currently dosing E.I as per instructions from aquariumplantfood.co.uk but as I do a 50% w/c every other day will this be enough? Or do I need to review the quantity I put in?
I am trying to calculate the perfect mix for my E.I dosing regime, and it has made me think...... If I have tap water that is high in nitrates (30ppm) &high in phosephates would I still need to add them to my E.I mixbearing in mind that even with a low fish load 15 tetras in a 75g, my nitrates...
cheers for the help guys! im going from a 25l to a 200l tank so originally thought this was going to be way way over my head...... its nice to finally have a plan and an idea of what needs to be done!
ahhhhhh excellent! i feel a lot better about doing this now! would it be worthwhile using root tabs as well. Also ive always used carbon filtration, is it still ok using this or is it best to remove?
thanks, that e.i dosing kit sounds like what i need..... but i feel i may be in over my head. from what ive read so far i alternate days between micro and macro and have a rest day every week, but mixing quantities and dosing quantities vary with near enough every website :s
Howdy, basically ive kept tropical fish in a 25l aquarium for a few years and now im embarking on a 200l project. im completely new to ferts and i want to keep things as simple as possible. the tank will be 200l with 2.2wpg (t5) will have a large variety of fish a 2000lph filter and heavily...
