    whats the secret with moss?

Mosses prefer cold water. Im guessing with those lights its quite warm. Fissidens seems to tolerate warmer waters better than java type mosses, so maybe give that a try.

    crypts and co2

All plants, aquatic and non aquatic, can absorb nutrients to varying degrees through their leaves. Crypts are at the low end of this, they much prefer to take nutrients through their roots.

    crypts and co2

Exactly right :P As far as i am away crypts can only take up sufficient nutrients through their roots, and these are generally not exposed to the water column. If you increase the CO2 and don't provide nutrients at root level then you're barely going to see an increase in growth. If you add...

    crypts and co2

Root tabs are your best bet there. CO2 will help but not as much as other plants, root tabs on the other hand have an insane effect on crypts' growth.

    Eleocharis Parvula

Give it time to adjust, then cut the blades back to about a 2cm - That should encorage it to send out runners. Its a very slow grower Often you wont know the runners have gone out until you see little straight lines of tiny green shoots sticking out - try not to disturb them as they will...

Keeping Tropica 1-2-Grow pot for a longer period of time

The tissue culture plants do need light. In a cool place with a light cycle they will last months. I've seen LFS's keep them in dark fridges and they die and the plants rot within a few months.

    a low tech carpet

Oh, and if you haven't gotten one yet already - get a reflector for your fluoressant tube. It practically doubles the light levels. These are the ones I got, they made a big diffrence to the plants in my low tech setups: 28w Juwel Compatible T5 Aquarium Lighting Reflectors Make sure you get...

    a low tech carpet

If you want to go the hair grass route, i highly recommend getting a pot of the tissue culture stuff instead of the pot with mineral wool. You get a lot more for your money and no damn wool to separate the roots from.

    a low tech carpet

It depends how dense a carpet you want, but personally I'd go with dwarf hair grass. I've got it in 2 of my 60L tanks with single 18w bulbs in each. It grows pretty slowly - but it grows. I'd recommend against a java moss carpet. Unless you are keeping your temp below 22˚C and have high light...
