Its the air in the filter, give it a few restarts or slightly shake it. It will eventually dissapate. Takes a few goes and it will be sorted.

Yes I used the rear cut outs and it fit fine. Just cut the tubes to shape to avoid excess. However dont cut them that short in case you need to upgrade tanks like I did. Luckily the tubes are universal size so I replaced them with eheim tubes to match the Rena drop.

I had a e1500 in my 180 and it was fine. You might have to negotiate the tube and cables depending where your power socket is but I had no problem with the door. For removals I simply unplugged and took to the sink. I also ran co2.

I used a kitchen knife and then cleaned up the silicone after with a stanley blade. Took 5 minutes and less of a clutter without it.

So using tights will be fine in the filter, but you re generate them each month with bleach and this will make them last super long? Never tried that. I will give this a try sometime.

May I ask how you use this? I got given 2 bottles of this when I bought a second hand tank. However the man said he has had them for a year or so. I dont suppose that if you dont use it for some time it will not work as well as a brand new bottle? Reason I ask is that both bottles were opened.

I think using dechlor is a sure safe method. Some dont use it at all and simply just do a water change. However it all depends on how much water you are displacing. Well you see the round button on top of the filter? When it is off. Press down on it a few times and this will prime the filter ready. Then turn it back on. You will find that the tank water has gone down a little because its in the filter. Then after a few minutes turn it off and back on...

I just used 2-3 filter pads with the ceramic at the bottom. Then a devider type thing and then the filter floss on top. Used it for years before I upgraded to the JBL e1500.

Im in the same boat, but would go for a little bigger as I am intending to upgrade to a 400l tank in the near future so do what you prefer. I think the K2 is fine and price wise theres not much in it. Down to personal preference and requirements thereon after.

Go for the JBL range. I got mine online from zooplus. Get the biggest one you can afford as later you might want to upgrade to a bigger filter and this is a very well built filter in my opinion.
