Im thinking then that a 5000lph submersable pump with my aps 2000 should do the trick :)
The aps with a full length spraybar didnt have a lot of 'flow' to it but with the extra pump it will be good?
External 5000lph pump would mean I can run a reactorbwith it but at 130 watts or so theyvarent...
What is the best way to create good circulation in a larger tank?
I have an eheim wet and dry trickle filter which only puts out 550lph with its wave motion and an aps 200. I also have an eheim streamon 1800.
ive tried a full length spray bar on the aps filter but its doesnt push much water...
I personally use floss in my filter as it does a good job of clarifying the water quickly.
Its not essential as particles will be taken out by the other media eventually but it will take a little longer
Most bio filteration will do a good job of mechanical filteration too.
If you run a prefilter on the inlet then no mechanical filteration is needed at all.
On my (ex) 600l tank i had one full of large pea gravel and ceramics, and one crammed with sponges and a bit of floss.
I also made a habbit of running the sponges under hot tap water so they didnt build up and biological filteration as it got blocked quite easily, but the other one has never...
How much would be too much?
Im looking at an external but its rated as 1000lph...... which is almost 100x per hour?
Will be shrimp only unless i find some extremely nano fish (danionella sp.)
I have dug out an old eheim professional 2224 that i want to use for my 60l tank, but a silly amount of parts are missing.....
Does anyone know where i can buy the following from?
2 media baskets......
The double tap connector that connects the filter canister to the pipework
There are more...
Wow, they really arent cheap at all are they :P
The pump would be for a 600l (aprox) tank. it is a community tank but i think with some pipework i could make stil and fast flow areas. (no plants btw, purely for the benafit of the fish)
