    frustrated or not?

I see what you mean but that's also part of the beauty - the fact that this hobby is all about nature. It evolves on it's own and creates it's own art in the process.

    Check out my Wood

That's a great improvement, nice looking tank there. :)

    Wood scape critique!

I think a lot of space is wasted by the massive clump where all of the peices join in the centre. A great first attempt though, the thing is to keep practising now. ;)

    suggestions for layout

What a nice bit of wood you have there! :) If you had more like that I would chuck it in because it ooks a bit too sparse with just peice but this still has great potential, keep us posted.

A different Iwagumi - now with video

Re: A different Iwagumi! I really really like this, can't put my finger on why but I just do. Although there's something not quite right about it for me, again I can't quite put my finer on it... I think the main stone looks a bit out of place for me. Still, like others have said another...

    how i miss "miracle mire"

That was by far one of your best aquascapes and one of the best on this forum as a whole! It's great looking back on past works of any nature - love it. :)

Wow, that's the best video I've seen too! It fills me with jealousy more than inspiration...

    Manzanita wood aquascape- your views?

I think you've got good numbers there, but I would get less Crypts personally - about two or three maybe? It's up to you, but generally you will get four or five plantlets out of a standard Tropica pot that you can plant and they will fill in.

    Manzanita wood aquascape- your views?

The wood looks great! Can we have a few more stats? substrate, lighting etc I think moss would look good, a few Crypts also like you said. It's entirely up to you - ferns, anubias, bolbitis etc are great plants.

Think I've come to a layout for the breeder...

Ah right, sorry about that but if you didn't point that out then I wouldn't know. I think it depends what you want really, if your sole purpose is to breed the fish then you'll want a lot of cover and places to hide but might not mind if it doesn't look so good. Whereas if you want it to be a...

Think I've come to a layout for the breeder...

I don't know if I've missed the point, but what is this 'breeder' for? If you told us that, and a bit more info etc then we might be able to give a few more tips. ;)

    help with hardscape

I don't like the last one, for the same reasons as Clark. I think the other two are great though - but with less rock and the rocks a lot less 'lined up' if you see what I mean. It will look more natural that way. You've got a good hardscape basis for a nice aquascape there.

    help with hardscape

Yeah, sorry if that post sounded a bit rude or whatever - just thought I'd add my two pence. What you've got is actually great for a first try, just keep practising and it can only get better.

    help with hardscape

I think you're trying to create something too extrovagant - try using minimal hardscape and if you want to, work your way up and practise a lot. I think there's too much hardscape and too much going on for a diddy 35l though. Also, as Mark said in his first post - try to get the tips of the...

Manzanita wood - now in the UK

Looking at the list, I've chosen too many peices and it's probably unfair on eveyrone else. So, on second thoughts I've decided to wait until a later date for this wood - don't really need it any time soon to be honest and it would be more use to someone else. My bits are back up for grabs -...

Manzanita wood - now in the UK

^ You pay £5 something for each kg of wood you want, plus £12 if you want the lot posted. At least that's what I've gathered. ;)

Manzanita wood - now in the UK

Here's what I'd like please: M002 M005 M006 M010 S003 S007 S008 S009 S010 Posted please. I hope it doesn't seem as if I'm being greedy... It's just such great wood and I find it really difficult choosing the right peices. They're not big peices, but if someone wants one of these I'd probably...

I think the best person to PM would be Tonser (Tony) - he seems to be the one organising everything. ;)

Manzanita wood - now in the UK

I hope the people who have expressed an interest by putting their name on the list will get priority... Otherwise there wasn't much point in that. I hope I'm not working on Sunday, better ser my alarm - no lie in for me! Thanks again Tony for organising this for us all.

I think sumatra wood would be a nice one to use, most (if not all) Maidenhead Aquatics stock it.

    'Scape in 60 minutes

It looks a lot bigger than it is in the last photo! I like the fact it's quite different from the normal stuff. Won't some of the plants outgrow this tank though?

    Who's entering ADA IAPLC 2009?

Can I ask when the closin date is? And does anyone know the closing dates for the other competitions aswell? I am going to enter, again purely to up the numbers and get some feedback. I think we all know I'm not going to do well (especially with my photography) but I don't care! I'm...
