    CO2 Regulator Problems

Close the needle valve fully then adjust the main control knob to give around 2.5 bar then open the needle valve very slowly to get the desired bubble rate, if the pressure drops adjust the main knob again to give around 2.5 bar That should have you set up in the right area, dont be surprised...

CO2 Art Dual Guage Reg w/Solenoid working pressure?

30psi is approximately 2 bar I believe the co2 art regs are 2.5bar so it will be fine the only issue you may have is the same as many people on here as well as world wide and thats if the atomizer you by is genuine or fake, if this is the case its what gets said when someone has one that doesnt...

will any tubing do for co2

When researching regulators for when I build mine I came across a post that stats silicone tube shouldn't be used as its leaks co2, depending on the pressure it was anywhere from 5% - 20% it didnt explain anything in more detail so im not sure how accurate the figures or even the info, Mark

    DC position in tank

I agree with andy, im not convinced by drop checkers at all I use mine only as a rough guide, I think having it near the substrate is to give an indication of whether or not your co2 is getting down low enough, by far the best indication is the plants, if your low / carpet plants are growing...

I run a 2kg fire extinguisher on my 30l and its lasted well upto now I would expect around 12 months from it :) theres a few people who use the 500g and can last a few months but its kind of an impossible question to answer as it will all depend on your bubble size, bubble rate and so on, As...

    CO2 and am confused

Hi cj Co2 for me is an absolute must I love the challenge off high tech, co2 setups can be as cheap or as expensive as you wise, when it comes the mini setups they seem a good idea but the cost of refills is ridiculous I was spending £12 a week on co2 bottles for a 30l tank if you can I would...

Common problem with DIY FE?. Danger to fish and cylinder?

As far as I know there a no dual stage regs made for aquatics the only way is to buy a welding dual stage reg and the fittings required such as needle valve etc as a rough idea you would be looking somewhere between £125 -£175 for a good reg modified for aquatics

    CO2 regulator dead

If the solinoid is going on and off and allowing co2 through you can 99% rule that out as the problem in nearly all solinoid failures they completely stop working, again you can almost certainly rule out the regulator again for the same reasons so personally id check the needle valve but I...

    Interested in FE

As far as I can make out the only potential major difference is the price, for what some of the aquatic co2 setups cost you can buy a fe a good regulator and you have a wide choice of diffusers etc In short you get a whole lot more for your money when you go the "diy" route
  53. sa80mark

    Interested in FE

Imo when it comes to aquatic equipment thats what you pay for, you pay a premium for kit thats labeled aquarium a fire extinguisher is a much cheaper way to go for what is pretty much the same thing Thats just my opinion im sure others will give there views

    drop checker size

Ive been looking at the hang on ones but im not to sure on them as I was under the impression that you should try to have the dc low down near the substrate having said that I guess if the flow is good the dc could be anywhere as you could be quite certain that enough co2 is getting down low
