i bought a snilar reg off another seller. it was pretty useless tbh. i wanted to put it on a sodastream bottle but it could'nt hold the pressure. even when shut off it was coming out way too fast.
i just woundered if the 5kg FE's have more pressure in than a 2kg? or is it just the capacity that is bigger?
if they are much more pressure do you know if my aquamedic reg will be ok? it seems pretty strong but want to make sure as you can imagine :D
mine are the same. it has never really bothered me though. i dont touch my co2 once setup and only clean my diffuser quickly once a month.
it should do. it needs pressure to push the co2 through the ceramic disc. i would just set it up so that the co2 is the right bsp the day after its been...
some people who use lily pipes raise them at night to add o2 when the plants dont produce it. this is to not only help the fish but for the bacteria which is all over. the bacteria does help stop algae which is why mature setups get less
aglae.
i should say that it will be ok  the disposible and refillable bottle are allways the same size (apart from hydor) and the threads should also be the same
alot of people do it different really. kinda what you feel works best, most put them in a place where the flow is high such as under the filter outlet or under a powerhead.
some people however place them under the filter inlet where it sucks the bubbles into the filter where it diffuses it...
i made my own but it isnt in use yet so ill see how it works. i used perspecs tube which was very tight fitting. if you want to know where to get stuff pm me glenn as i was searching for ages
i can say for sure its boyu though as i got it second hand.
iv just had a quick measure and the cheap one is about 52mm tall and the boyu is 42mm. not a massive difference but looks alot smaller
i made a DIY reactor similar to Ed Seeleys one but havent got the tank yet to try it but havent put anything in it because they work as well without the balls/noodles in
the bubbles per minute depends on all sorts of things to be honest like the type of diffuser you have the distribution of the co2 ect
the drop checker is a vital piece of equipment when using co2 and that your best way to tell :D
in the long run it isnt that much to keep going and not as hard as it sounds, as long as you have a drop checker then you cant go wrong many people get regs off ebay with built in solenoid for about £50 and drop checkers are about £5 for a cheap one. a bottle would be £15 (from dan crawford)...
IMO co2 is allways best you will probely have algae issues like you say, plants benefit more from co2 rather than easycarbo IMO too. what makes you weary of co2 injection?
does anyone know if this could be used as a reactor?

im thinking its not long enough but i wouldnt be sure
you may want to consider the hydor green system they are pretty cheap but like ed says your better off looking for cheaper bottles. you can find the hydor ones one ebay quite often for around £30
hi iv got a hydor advanced system and that fits onto the regulator without any of the adapters you get with it. i picked up 4 bottles for about £18 which is quite cheap.
thanks
