i have bought some plants from mike via special order, they are always very cheap and great quality.
them fish do look very cool little guys. i would like a few in my current RCS tank.
although tetras prefer soft water for breeding, i have never struggled with any tetra. i have neons from about 4-5 years ago.
plants are also not bothered about water hardness ether
IMO i would add a max of 10 (keeping the fish already in) as they are very small. well the ones i have seen anyway. But you would need to keep up on water changes :D
how much do you do? i allways do 50% plus on mine a week. white spot is caused by stress, normally from ammonia. it may have been building up over time.
if it does not go then do bigger water changes or more often. it will be annoying doing it on such a big tank but it will get rid permanently...
i seem to have a problem in this tank. i am down to 2 red eye tetra and 2 SAEs from 5 of each :?
i have moved them now as its really annoying me. i hate killing fish. i tested the water and all is normal. even had no co2 in and added an airstone.
any ideas????
thanks for the replys
i think it may just be the new tank. the lught flicks on quite quick which i dont think they would like.
mine are allways in mid to bottom too
hi all
i have just bought 5 red eye tetra for my braceless 60cm and one has already jumped out. into my bin  i just wanted to know if they jump alot? i know all tetras jump from time to time but i didnt want to loose them all in a week.
not sure if these have been mentioned but i bought some red eye tetra today and i really like them. they are shoaling very well at the moment and are much nicer than the pictures i have seen of them. very cool

they have juvenile ones which are near wild. the electric blue ones look pretty sweet too :P
maybe its not then
the auction has ended now but said they will list more. they said that i can buy them straight from them anyway.
ill post a link when they are back on
i am getting the eggs from ebay. the person selling them does if for a hobby and has a photo on the ad of one of the adults. they are about £5 with postage for 10 eggs which they said will hatch in about a week. not a bad deal i think
i would put a link but i think its agenst the rules
thats a pretty good site. i normally search a while then put questions on the forum when i give up. there should be more site like that.
the ones i will be getting are the gold variety :D
yours were very nice ones then some you see look dull. are these very avalible in most shops? how larger tank are we talking about too :D
your anwsering all my questions tonight
the ones you mention look quite nice and seeing as the tank wont be big enough for the ones i wanted they might be a good second option.
do you have any pics of yours as when i google them they all look different
thanks for anwsering ed
thanks ed  the ones i will be getting are Fundulopanchax species and will be in a tank of there own which is already set up. will they be ok when they hatch to put them straight in there? its only a nano and i can change water frequently
i really like the look of them and they sound like they have a lot of character too :D gotta get some. my closest MA at crowland even said they have not had any in for ages  and they have every fish you can think of  but said if i talk so the manager he might be able to get some...

Re: Help me sex my Ram's :)
i belive the males have a larger dorsal fin and the females sometimes show a redish colour on there underside but apart from that i cant be sure but sounds as if they are male and female.
if your aiming to breed then they still might not as they like to choose there...
yesterday i noticed my co2 was running low so turned it up at little and this morning the co2 was empty as expected but i had 3 dead noen tetras (4 others were fine) i dont no if this is because of the co2. I tested the water and found everything to be normal and there was a oily film on the...
white spot is caused by stress this is normally by tank pollution i use interpet anti-whitespot and regular water changes this works well but alternatly if you do regular large water changes that should do the trick.
hi i had the same problem once exacly lasted about 2-3 weeks then went dark and diddnt eat i was pretty certian it was internal parasites it died in the end, this can be treated if the fish is still eating but if not i think might be hard to treat i think it may need salt baths or something cant...
