Plants as eggs on them most likely, heard bog wood is also a common introduction. Can also be food, if you feed dried foods. Doubt it will be flakes.

I have Nematodes and Copepods in my tanks. Nematodes - Worm like tiny 3-4mm Copepods - White dots that dart around.

Quite right, that was a June offer was it not? And new issue in pipeline already. Chances of filter last week would have been very slim as tank offer would have started already.

Whilst weekend away, went to The Water Zoo, and Madenhead Aquatics in Peterborough seeing I was there and wow, the centrepiece tank was mahoosive. Apparently UKAPS had a hand in developing it? So who was it? I just pondered across it by chance. Worth the visit for the big tank alone. :thumbup:

It's tiny can't see it being any good, but regulator on a bigger can? Prob a bsp that only fits fluval units.

This, its brand new, on principle you should take it back, maybe you know someone who can help with transport. Phone them, see what they say, did you have it delivered?

Get one that maxes out on the desired temp.. I.e my nano one only goes up to 26'c. If it failed it wouldnt be so bad really.

£5 for 3 online, so £3 for 3 is a good deal.

Similar, i used fresh clean tap water, as a bath for the critters in reality, but none of the water went in, may set up something again this summer. Did yoou introduce the daphnia, I only got mos larvae and the odd blood worm.

How do you scoop out daphnia, I used to use a seive, that would get most of the larger mosquito larvae, into freash clean tap water, leave them in there for a bit, then into tank. Howveer the seive the smaller larve would get left behind, which was fine actually.

I bought a valve for co2, so it can be switched off at night, yet I do have a high stock level of fish, so would be interested to know if even though the co2 is off, can the fish consume the o2?

I noticed a lot of powerheads on he bb on peeps tanks. Whats the purpose on top of spray bars say from a external filter? Is it just a case of better co2 distribution, or water flow?

Also, checked the spare tube light I have, its a T8, 30w, 35 (might be the size?) White light. Not sure if that is relevent?

I have tried a few plant in my time, and failed, Vallis was one, just didnt grow tall. I then tried Java Fern and Java Moss, as appaently they did well in low lights yet it seems to prodice loads of small stems and attach itself to stuff and break off, but never grew big, just stayed small...

Yeah, I thought Cat Litter being a clay, had a high CHC content therefore able to retain nutrients better then say soil? Your probbably right though, about sand filtering down, might go for a coarse larger granual sand, which may help it stay at the top?
