I have heard bad things personally, about leakage etc etc, but sure its maybe a 50/50 thing. Look on you tube, few videos on them running and set up, and the flow seems pretty weak, which might be a good thing, especially on a nano which houses shrimp. I was completing one for a 14l shrimp tank

I have similar bu the 260lph version of a different brand, and would like the 600, but too big for my tank unfortunately. Can I ask if it is 30cm wide? And the space from glass to back, as I have a wall up against the back of tank, and 260l one fits perfect.

Fair kop, media is cleaned regulalrly on a fortnight/3 wks basis in old tank water as part of my water change, the HOB is very easy cleaning. I will continue to dose liquid carbo and take it from there :) I think A trim is indeed in order especially the moss on branches, but dont think there...

Its an option, but generally a tad overkill for a 14l, HOB seem well suited. The only other is the Boyo/APS one (http://www.allpondsolutions.co.uk/aquar ... 0-l-h.html), but read bad things about that, so not 100% :crazy: I was thinking something like a miniture wavemaker (Korola, etc), etc.

Good idea Batman, simple but effective. Can use bottle size to suit aquarium, 500ml to 5lt or anything in-between.

Looks good that filter. was going to get a single fall one, for shrimp tank. may go for one now.

I just fill the baskets for the ceramic rings, and bio balls, and bio gravel as they are all pretty big. If I was to use carbon, that better in a bag as they are tiny, old ladies stocking apparently is ideal.

They are just ceramic rings, dont think brand makes a difference, i got some from ebay, and has been fine since. I just ordered 50 bio balls on ebat for a couple of quid, as the ones that came with my pump were minimal, not enough to fill a basket.

Mine recently came with strater packs, ceramic tubes ieces, bio balls, and bio gravel.
