    Little co2 setup help...

Start with gas on 1 hour before lights and gas off 1 hour before lights off. Get a drop checker as this will give you an indication of the Co2 ppm. your are aiming for a green/lime green colour when lights on and it to stay this colour until lights off. Trying to achieving this colour will...

    Help needed for Co2 Profile

Higher agitation seems to have fixed surface scum and the co2 now gets to correct level by lights on. Now just to keep the plants healthy

    Help needed for Co2 Profile

I had some surface scum with lower surface agitation, bps at 1.3 and at this rate it took about 4 hours to go from 7.4 to 6.8 before lights on. So this weekend I upped the co2 to 2bps and increased surface agitation, pH at 7.6 before lights on and 6.9 when lights on. Decreased gap between co2...

Thanks for the reply, the Staurogyne is losing its bottom leaves, and some leaves now appear translucent. I'll update my journal shortly with a few photos. :)

    Help needed for Co2 Profile

Thanks for the link, I think I may have read that a few years back, I joined here in 2008 and had varying success with a 240l, 70l and 125l. After a few years off I'm just trying to get my head back around the process and anything that may have changed (LED lights for example) since I was last...

    Help needed for Co2 Profile

The other day I left our tap water for 24 hours and then tested the ph, the reading from the tap was 7.4 and after 24 hours it was 8.2, however the KH is still 7 so I'm still aiming for 6.8 - Is that right? Yesterday I upped the co2 to 2 bps and increased surface agitation, the ph drop was...

So I may experiment with a higher bps rate to see how quickly the pH drops as without a pH controller I'll need to manually monitor during the light period. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Help needed for Co2 Profile

Yes thanks, during the week I'm leaving it unchanged, tested yesterday evening and PH down to 6.85, which according to the link I found on here to RotalaButterlfy is spot on 30ppm. Now I guess i need to get it to 6.85 for lights on and keep it there for the lighting period. I may experiment at...

    Help needed for Co2 Profile

Hi, I'm trying to get the co2 in my tank stable during lighting period, I've borrowed a ph pen and have charted morning, co2 on, lights on, co2 off lights off on a chart. Looking at the chart my co2 builds over the lighting period before returning to normal ph for my water over night. My...

    JBL Inline co2 diffuser

So had it running since Saturday, lots of bubbles coming out of the spray bar, but the diffuser makes a hissing sound, does yours do this? I've checked the co2 connecters with soapy water, no leaks.

    JBL Inline co2 diffuser

Do these diffusers need to be vertical as I only have about 10cm above the filter before the pipes go behind the aquarium? If I install it on the outlet it will probably be at about 45degrees as that pipe goes from the right side of the cabinet to the left side of the aquarium.

    JBL Inline co2 diffuser

Thanks for your help, my local Maidenhead Aquatics sell the JBL inline diffuser so will try that one first as I can easily take it back if it fails for whatever reason.

So you have this connector between your bottle and diffuser and so disconnect the c02 tube then unscrew the bubble counter?

I've been thinking of replacing my ceramic in tank diffuser for a while now and stumbled across the JBL Inline diffuser (it looks very similar to the UP diffuser). Drop Checker Ahoy!

Just tested the reagent in tap water and it seems to be working as it went blue straight away. We put it in the 4 kdH water in the drop checker again and put that in the tank it went yellow straight away. Could the 4dkH water change over the course of 3 years stored in a plastic bottle, or...

    External c02 diffuser

Okay, sounds like the best option to me, I have broken a rhinox diffuser in the past so hearing that this one is bit more robust is great. Have you tried covering yours with black cloth so the keep the light out and so keep the algae at bay! Thanks

    External c02 diffuser

Thanks for the pointer Paul, although that thread is mainly for the AM1000, I found it very useful. I'd like to read about other diffusors/reactors out there and peoples experiences with them. I've just a quick search of the forum and can't seem to find anything on the CalAqua 17mm diffusor...

    co2 external reactor info please?

    co2 external reactor info please?

Paul, I'm also looking into getting an AM1000 and replacing my glass diffusor, have you found it generates better c02 distribution in the tank and thus allowed you to save on c02, as the whole co2 setup is more efficient? One of my questions was on the hose tails as they seems to state...

    External c02 diffuser

    External c02 diffuser

Thanks for the reply, I am confused as to why the AM 1000 web site mentions 12/16, surely it does not matter what the external dimension of the hose are :? . In the AM1000 product manual you can download is says the one hose tail is 16/18 and one 12/16, this seems odd to me so I was wondering...

Co2 pipe keeps coming off !!!

Good old silicone :D Its JBL Co2 tubing, I was thinking of putting a cable tie over the tubing to try and keep it on but I may just end up breaking the diffuser. The JBL tubing after a year in the tank got very hard and inflexible, so I replaced it with some spare JBL tubing I had which was...

Co2 pipe keeps coming off !!!

Yep, quiet a way past. I heat up the end of the pipe so it goes on further. The Rhinox 1000 in my small tank does not do this and the old Rhinox 5000 I had before I broke it was also okay.

Co2 pipe keeps coming off !!!

Hi, My co2 tubing keeps coming off my Rhinox 2000 Diffuser and I’m not sure how I can keep it from doing this. I heat the end of tube in warm water before putting it back onto the diffuser to make it more flexible but this seems to have not helped as it still comes off. Does anyone have any...

co2 is scaring me!!! i got kids man......

Hi, Sounds like you have the grasp of high and low tech tank setup. As far as I know a low tech tank light output should be between 1.5wpg and 2.0 wpg, with your Roma 200 you have 1.15wpg so may struggle with some plants. Saying that I have a Roma 240 and for the first 8 months managed to...

I have had a JBL Easy set 2 for about a year now have not had a problem with at all. It's easy to setup and even easier to adjust the flow of c02 to the tank. My Easy set did fall over once but nothing happened, so I drilled two holes in teh cabinet either side of the bottle, screwed in two...

HI, I just bought a spiro diffuser and wondered if anyone can tell me how to get it to work, as I can't seem to find any information on this.
