    Fluval Aquasky 2.0

Thanks, yes possibly, I did think it should gradually fade to darkness rather than darken in stages.

    Fluval Aquasky 2.0

Here is a video showing the light behaviour 1 minute before "off" time, is this normal? Aquasky 2.0

    Fluval Aquasky 2.0

I swapped the light for another which was easy thanks to my local Maidenheadc aquatics. The replacement light behaved in the same way ☹️. Fluval are still investigating as it should not behave like this. Just wondering if anyone that has an aquasky 2 could see what their light does just before...

    Fluval Aquasky 2.0

When I called Fluval tech support he seemed to think it maybe faulty, he said it should not switch between normal light and green light momentarily before the off time. I missed a call back from him, I'll call back on Monday to see what he suggests.

    Fluval Aquasky 2.0

Thanks, is not very gradual for me, it's seems to have a stepped gradient in use. For example 10 minutes before the end of sunset it still seems pretty bright where I would expect it be almost off.

    Fluval Aquasky 2.0

I recently replaced the LED light that came with the Fluval Roma with an aquasky 2. Its running in auto mode with an 1.5 hour sunrise and sunset. Should it dim from slowly and consistently dim during the sunset phase ? I just watched it about 3 minutes before sunset end and it dimmed, then...

    Fluval Roma LED lighting

Looks good, and that's with the standard LED that comes with it.... I like the Discus in there. Is the large middle plant and over sized Anubias Nana? I have injected Co2 on my current setup will continue to use that on the new tank and setup and will use my existing Eheim external thermo...

    Fluval Roma LED lighting

I also have a Roma 125 with 2 T8 tubes that I'm currently using for a low light setup, but the misses managed to scratch the glass on the tank whilst cleaning it a few months back so looking at getting a new tank. Looking into it further it comes with a 10 watt LED light which is not that...

    Fluval Roma LED lighting

Hi, Looking at going for a new Fluval Roma tank that now comes with LED lighting instead of the older T8 tubes. Has anyone used one, is it only good enough for low light planting or can I plant some higher light demanding plants? Thanks Steve

    Replacement T8 Tubes

Hi, Looking at aquaessentials web site, which tubes would be best to replace my aging T8 tubes in my tank? Should I go for an Original and Freshwater lamp or opt for the classica ones? Is there a difference? Any help appreciated Steve

Stick with T8s or go with T6?

Sounds like you are happy with the flow from your filter and that you will dosing ferts. Many people use Excel/easycarbo in there their tanks, I've used Excel in mine and am not aware of any adverse effects of using it. Try this link for more info on T6's...

Stick with T8s or go with T6?

Hi Polly, I would say IMHO that you will need a comination of things to grow plants well, these combinations/elements are water flow, nutrients, c02 and light. In my experience if you only increase light you are more likely to end up with algae issues - It's all about balance. What is your...

What would you do? Thanks for the help. With update.

Re: What would you do? Plan A or B, simplified The WPG rule of thumb is a bit misleading, it was originally used for T12 lamps. T8 lamps produce more light than an Equivalent wattage T12 and T5 lamps produce more light than an Equivalent wattage T8. Even though you said the T5 have lower wpg...

Arcadia 18" luminaire - maximum size tank?

I've got a 60cm one, just measured the legs and worked out you would get another 9cm max out of it The runners the legs are on are run the whole length of the luminaire so you can easily put a longer luminaire on a shorter tank.

Arcadia 18" luminaire - maximum size tank?

Chris, Best bet is to phone them yourself, I did about my luminaire and found them very helpful, they even told me the shops that had bought the particlaur model I was interested in so I could go and have a look at it :) If Charterhouse can't get hold it for you Arcadia may be able to tell...

Arcadia 18" luminaire - maximum size tank?

They only seem to sell at 18" T8 light. T5's start at 24" They sell the 18" light on charterhouse, just click on the link in the previous post and sleect T8 from the left hand menu. I'm not sure the 18"/45cm will fit securely onto the tank. Bets bet is to phone Arcadia on 0845 8855100 Cheers

    Newbie lighting question

Hi, I guess it depends on whether you want to keep your hood or not and only you can answer that question. Regarding what lights you need the general rule of thumb is watts per US gal, although I think is based on T12 lights (T8 and T5 give off more light than T12). For a low tech tank you...

    Juwel Lamps

Do you mean the T8 tubes Johnny? I guess you do as the 895mm T5 version is 45w. You could try this place http://www.fishandfins.co.uk/aquarium-spares-juwel.htm#lights or here although not sure how goo these tubes are...

    Dennerle special plant t5 tubes

The only problem with replacing with an I-Bar is that you will be left with a lower wattage tube that does not run the whole length of the tank, plus the I-Bars are about £80 without tubes dependning on length! I've just put J5's in my tank with arcadia plant pro tubes, you can get them from...

    Dennerle special plant t5 tubes

Not that I am aware, the J5 tubes are shorter than the equivalent wattage T5 tubes to specifically fit into Juwel aquariums. The only manufactures I know of are Arcadia and Juwel.

How to convert a Fluval Roma 240 I-Bar to use T5 lights

To convert the Fluval Roma I-Bar you will need the following: - 1 x Arcadia Ultra Seal Electronic T5 controller Twin 54w - 2 x Arcadia J5 or Juwel 54w T5 tubes - 2 x Arcadia reflectors or similar - Dremel or similar tool - Wallpaper scraper - Silicon To start we need to open the I-Bar (the top...

    Lighting for a Roma 240

Hi, I have Roma 240 tank and recently upgraded it to T5 lights by using an Arcadia 2x54w electronic control unit and 2x 54w arcadia J5 plant pro tubes (Juwel length tubes as they are the same length as the old 40w T8s and fit inside the hood). I removed the old T8 magnetic control units from...
