Pretty sure someone on here who owned one of these EQJ filters mentioned they were noisy, it was ages ago though so no idea who that was. Actually it probably wasn't the 2000l version but a smaller one. No help there then really :D personally I wouldn't chance it, its more likely to be wrong...

The larger e1500 looks quite nice and good value although not the most energy efficient IMO at 35W, the smaller ones do a degree better energy efficiency wise and are comparable to other filters on the market, e900 is 15w and the e700 is 13w.

Yes the low the low power usage is definitely one I had considered, I think its about 3.5w for the nano, glad to hear its silent as well. I will go ahead and order a couple based on the positive views here Thanks all.

Just measured it,its slightly over 10 inches across the top, can't measure it totally accurate because the top is curved, definitely over 10 inches though.....sorry. Height won't be a problem, the filter is under 50 cms. I wouldn't chance it if the space is that tight and my measurements are out...

Yes I knew it wouldn't be anywhere near 1200 l/h Clive but I was curious anyway and expected a little bit better. I thought that it may be over half 600+ of the rated flow but this wasn't the case, less than half the rated output is poor IMO. Some of the fittings are poorly designed as well IMO...

Well I did a bit more checking around on this and it turns out there may be problems with this filter, a known problem which Tetra are aware of apparently. The problem is with the sealing ring or gasket, which after opening up the filter for maintenance leaks when you start the filter up again...
