    Koralia Evolution

I have the two smaller ones, the nano and the next one up, the 1600 lph one, both are quiet IMHO, not totally silent but very quiet nonetheless, certainly within very acceptable tolerence levels if you are sitting quite close to one which I normally do when using the laptop. I would have no...

    Hydor Koralia Evolution (ETA?)

Nice spot Tesco, good prices, I have been on the outlook for these as well, just ordered two, so will let ya know if they arrive or not  I think it should be fine though (I hope :D ) they seem to be a bricks and mortar shop in Cardiff that run an online service as well. Did a quick google...

    EQJ trading external filters

Pretty sure someone on here who owned one of these EQJ filters mentioned they were noisy, it was ages ago though so no idea who that was. Actually it probably wasn't the 2000l version but a smaller one. No help there then really :D personally I wouldn't chance it, its more likely to be wrong...

    JBL Cristal Profi E-Series

The larger e1500 looks quite nice and good value although not the most energy efficient IMO at 35W, the smaller ones do a degree better energy efficiency wise and are comparable to other filters on the market, e900 is 15w and the e700 is 13w.

    Hydor koralia nano

Yes the low the low power usage is definitely one I had considered, I think its about 3.5w for the nano, glad to hear its silent as well. I will go ahead and order a couple based on the positive views here Thanks all.

    Hydor koralia nano

Just wondering if anyone is using these nano versions of the koralia on the forum, what are your impressions of them? The ordinary larger koralias are just too big for me looks wise so I thought I may try a couple of these smaller ones instead...

    Change of External Filter System.

An Eheim Professional 3e model 2078 will not work properly if you attach any external extras like inline heaters or CO2 reactors, the built in computer does not function correctly if anything inline is added, the flow rate is also considered underpowered. Dissappointing performance and...

What are the dimesions of the Tetratec EX1200?

Just measured it,its slightly over 10 inches across the top, can't measure it totally accurate because the top is curved, definitely over 10 inches though.....sorry. Height won't be a problem, the filter is under 50 cms. I wouldn't chance it if the space is that tight and my measurements are out...

    Filter recommendation for 3ft tank

Tom what do you not like about the Rena XP4? Why would you avoid them, I'm looking for a new filter and I have them on the radar atm.

Looks nice, didn't do a flow test before you fitted it to the tank by any chance did you?

    Tetratec EX 1200 filter

What war? my retort was more to do with Andys forgiveness "I take back everything I said " quote unquote. I have just layed out the facts as I have found them and have TESTED them, nothing more nothing less. I wonder would most people, including you, be happy if they knew the true output of...

Ask them about the rubbish output performance and see if they can sort that out as well

are these on sale in the UK?

Bet all those right angles on the piping curtail the flow of water. Although I do like the double intake section on that unit with the 2 strainers, I believe the more surface area for the inlet pipes the better as this will help maximise flow intake IMHO. Only a theory on my behalf but I bet its...

    Tetratec EX 1200 filter

Yes I knew it wouldn't be anywhere near 1200 l/h Clive but I was curious anyway and expected a little bit better. I thought that it may be over half 600+ of the rated flow but this wasn't the case, less than half the rated output is poor IMO. Some of the fittings are poorly designed as well IMO...

    Tetratec EX 1200 filter

I did a test on this filter to see what the actual flow rate was with the tetratec spraybar and the provided attachments added to the filter tubing (pipe bends etc). The results were poor IMHO, as I suspected the output from this filter is less than half the advertised flowrate and came in at...

    Tetratec EX 1200 filter

Well in the end I bought this filter, a Tetratec EX1200, and took delivery this morning so I have it set up and running now. First impressions are that its BIG, definitely check your stand size before you place your order to make sure it fits inside your cabinet. The filter is not totally...

    Tetratec EX 1200 filter

Well I did a bit more checking around on this and it turns out there may be problems with this filter, a known problem which Tetra are aware of apparently. The problem is with the sealing ring or gasket, which after opening up the filter for maintenance leaks when you start the filter up again...

    Tetratec EX 1200 filter

Cheers Denis I didn't know that I will check it out a bit further  I was more looking at Zooplus.ie for the purchase although one thing I noticed is that Zooplus.co.uk have the same filter a lot cheaper, overall this filter is pretty cheap in the UK, not here though, although add postage...

    Tetratec EX 1200 filter

Might have to put this on hold for a week  Just spent €850 in Tecso buying 2 LCD Tvs and a 160gig DVD revcorder , impulse buy, well not exactly impulse, seen an ad last night in the Sunday newspaper, got a great deal though, 50% off all Tvs DVDs etc in a one day only sale :mrgreen...

    Tetratec EX 1200 filter

Thanks everyone just double checking really, I had heard good things about them but no info is better than first hand experience and plenty of that here. I will order one today, it seems to fit the bill perfectly, it will give me 8x turnover that should be enough I would imagine, beats the...

    Tetratec EX 1200 filter

Ok I will put the question in the right section this time :) Anybody using these filters, what do you think of them? Would it give me enough circulation with an inline heater plumbed in for a 150l tank?? What would you reckon? I could always plumb the heater in on an eheim 2213 and just use...

    Eheim 2324 thermo filter

I would need two of them, that bad eh, flippin Heck thats 2x€165=€330  glad I asked! It definitely does not have a probe thats the eheim II version, but yeah thinking about it further It probably would not be enough in the long run, the eheims definitely seem to slow down after a...

    Powerheads

Thanks Ed, Im just trying to weigh up some options here, I have a couple of tanks where ideally the filters need to be upgraded so just looking at all options really and cheap is always good. The Tetratec 1200 with an inline heater is probably the way to go on this one, I will regret it if I...

    Eheim 2324 thermo filter

    Powerheads

I want to put a powerhead in a 150L tank to aid water circulation I'm just not sure what to add or order, the tank is filtered by an Eheim 2215 atm with supposedly filter circulation of 510l/h. Basically the eheim output has radically reduced over the last while and is inadequate, I doubt its...

    diatom filter

A friend of mine bought one (imported) from the United states just a few weeks back, it cost him €180 inc postage duty costs etc, so approx £126, he could not buy one anywhere in Europe, he also got a few kgs of diatom powder as well included in the total cost.
