Thanks Bazz, lots to think on now. Hmmm, I'm slowly going down a rabbit hole here. So you have a filtration unit and a water pump. So, your 1200XLT is not powerful enough (with CO2 on (which also has it's own pump)), but has enough filtration to manage the water. How would I know? Also, I've...

+1 for the sand. Only needs to be a dusting. I use play pit sand with my cory fry/juveniles. At £4 a bag even if you syphon some out it and need to replace it, it's not going to cost much. I think debris will end up accumulating under a mat/tile and removing it every time you need to clean will...

Crypts can be really hard and really easy... I have Wendtii Green in both my tanks. My guess is that it might be struggling/starving in that pot - there is no nutrient distribution around the roots etc.. - you need to root it in your substrate. Get rid of the dead leaves and re-plant it in...

Bends in the hoses are inevitable in most setups but I try to avoid tight bends like that. I use standard clear hose so I doubt I’d be able to get a bend as tight as that in it even if I wanted to. I like clear hose (or pale green/grey) because I can clearly see when they need cleaning.
