I have set my FX6 up using the coarse and medium sponges in the outer rings as per Pondguru advice. These sponges do get quite compressed to squeeze into position. I have noticed that some larger waste, bits of leaves etc, end up on top of the floss on top of the central section. Is it possible...

I am using carbon in my filter, but it's way too expensive in small quantities.
Does anyone have any recommendations? There are loads at varying prices on eBay, so not sure what to go for or avoid.

I have a 200L aquarium filtered by an Aquamanta 300, this supposedly turns over 1100 lph, but obviously somewhat less in the real world. Water movement in my tank is OK, but hardly spectacular. CO2 and aquasoil base.
I have ordered a Hydor Nano that turns over 900 lph to move things about a bit...
