I was posting in another thread earlier and I have a classic case of a plant moving house, a Balansae that started off at the opposite end of the tank dissolved then re-appeared at the other end. These plants have moved with me through numerous setups over the years but I've never noticed it...
It's the same plant that seems to have ended up in a few of my tanks. I think it came as part of a collection many years ago and just seems to survive. I originally thought it was some kind of crypt and just replanted it every time I did a new set up in an insignificant place.
The roots on it...
Which of the mosses are best for anchoring themselves to hardscape over the long term? I read that some mosses will look good tied down but will eventually break away. Looking for something to grow on wood or will all mosses eventually anchor themselves?
Just wondering if water lettuce not really doing well in an indicator of something lacking? I have had various plant species in my tank with varying levels of success. I bought some water lettuce from a member in here, they were fine plants but gradually the new off spring just don't seem to go...
Never gets a mention really, a lot of emphasis in the board is put on bobbling and growth you never here or see pics of plants flowering. Is flowering the pinnacle of a healthy plant or just one of them things? I myself have had an amazon sword flower with like a white daisy and a nymphea...
Is it common for these plants to die back? The ones in my tank seem to be dissolving, no other plants are affected and there is new growth on the plant just the bigger leaves seem to suffer.
I have inherited a 90l coldwater juwel set up containing four gold fish. It has already got a piece of bogwood in with a large java growing on it. Any recommendation for other cold water species I could try to keep to make the tank a little more interesting?
The tank is low lighting low tech I...
I have had some in my tank for a while which just rushes to the surface. TBH I don't actually mind the look of it, it softens up the tank and provides a very natural feel just swaying about. The actual base of the plant never seems to get any bigger so never seen the point of trying to split the...
Firstly let me apologise for double posting, I added these pics to another post but the post tailed off and was in the wrong category just wondering if this is some sort of deficiency in the new leaves of Amazons.
The yellow hole on the back right was on from when I got it from the shop and...
I'm just wondering if species like Hygrophilia which are generally faster growing and Vallis not growing are a sign of any nutrient deficiency? In my previous tanks they have done well with little or no coaxing or knowledge of plants just using commercial ferts but for some reason there just not...
What would cause certain plants like Bacopa Caroliniana to dissolve starting from the base , lighting perhaps? The plants have only been in 3 week so could possibly be die back, It only appears to affect certain plants. Some that I have lost the name of went black on the stem and I only have a...
