    Puff in his new tank

Got Esau the Puff a new tank yesterday. A Fluval Roma 125. Quite a nice tank really for the price, and the new style cabinets are smart. Anyway, here he is sitting in his cave  IMG_5514 by tommessenger:photo, on Flickr Tom

    Anyone into vintage photography?

Is anyone out there into shooting film still? What do you shoot? I've just dusted off these lot, and I thought I'd take some pictures. Trying to rotate which ones I use so they don't just sit there.

    Tanks on Film

I have been thinking recently about having a go shooting tanks on medium format film (or even 35mm). My question is, how would I go about exposing the image without having the benefit of trial and error with lighting? Say I use a light meter, where would I meter from? I can't hold it...

    My 21st present :D

Rather happy with this :D Shame the 5D doesn't work still... Have tried it on the 450D and it is lovely, but when you compare just looking through the viewfinders, it's unbelievably lovely on the 5D and fairly average looking on the 450! Aperture is very nice, and it all feels very solid...

Canon 5D not working after getting cold

Hi, I don't know if anyone can help with this, but I thought I'd post up anyway :( I took my 5D out to take some snowy shots for the mother yesterday morning, and after firing off around 5 shots it died. I haven't been able to turn it on since. The temperature was -7 or so, but my Yashica...

    Thought I'd show...

...what I'm doing at the moment, as I haven't been on here or even had a tank in ages. I've set up my photo website, but that's about it so far. After being screwed by both of my fishy employers since college, I'm trying something different! Slowly but surely... Site is...

Does anyone here do it? I've been trying recently, just with a bare 430ex, but can never balance everything properly Tom

    Some Photos from Spain

Just thought I'd put up a couple of pictures I got in Spain last week... Weather wasn't all that, and we had 3 days (well, patches) of sun out of 9 days  and because it looked good at the time... lol Tom

    Tank Photo Editing

Not wishing to take over Zig's thread, I thought I'd start a new one. How far should you go with image editing when entering a competition? Here's an example with my Iwagumi. First one straight out the camera, second is the final shot. The first shot IMO isn't a true representation of the...

    Feeding Time... Video

Thought I'd film it today, as he's been getting quite aggressive recently... For those that don't know, he's a Hairy Puffer, Monotrete baileyi, called Esau :D Had him 2 years in October I won't be hand feeding him any more, scared I might lose a finger or two lol...

    40cm

Well I was going to wait until this tank was sorted out properly, like better Java Fern, more established moss etc, but I couldn't! I'm really pleased with the rocks, and will probably use the same layout for my next design, just changing planting and stuff. Having said that, fire away...

    Need algae pictures

I'm in need of some decent quality pictures of the various algae types that affect planted aquaria for a chapter of my college project on Nature Aquaria. Has anyone got some pictures I could use, pretty please? I can accredit the pictures to whoever took them blah blah blah  Cheers, Tom
