Hi guys, although I'm a new member here I've been following UKAPS for a few years now and I have to say I'm a huge fan.
I'm trying to get hold of some crystal red shrimp and wondered if anyone has any that they'd sell me. Not looking for anything super high grade just with nice colour and...
So my former tank ended like this
I finally got my bits and bobs together and set about correcting it.
First, remove plants and shrimp:
Now clean it up, and wash your gravel:

Right - after going down the high tech route and ending up not liking my scape/not getting the hand of Co2, I decided to go down the low tech route.
Planned it for a good couple of months and went from this https://www.ukaps.org/forum/threads/first-attempt-at-aquascaping-took-long-enough.36995/...
New to the planted tank scene and I was wondering if you could help diagnose a potential algae outbreak in my tank, it's a high tech setup compromising of the following
Tank specifications - ~425 liters, 60” x 18” x 24”
Lighting - 4x 54watt T5 on between 14:00 & 22:00 (8 hours)...
Hi everyone I'm new to this site although I've visited many time this is my first post. I've been running tropical tanks for over ten years I've nearly always had live plants I've always wanted to use co2 but I'm scared of killing my fish( my tank is a rio 300 with with tetras and catfish all...
A year ago I decided to get a 23L Fluval Edge, and about a month into owning it I took the top pane of glass off. The Fluval Edge’s design was neat, but the glass and small opening really limits what I wanted to do with it. The tank went through many phases from Walstad to high tech...
So, I've just decided to setup a planted aquarium, however due to a history of medium/larger size reefs that I've maintained in the past (with all the work/stress load that it placed in my wife), I was "suggested" that if a new aquarium was going to enter our place should be...

So i have been a relative silent user on this forum as I've not had much to show.
Now after 1 month of being into my new place its time to give aquascaping a proper go.
Here is my very first attempt with a river to reef tank...
My name is John Koncz, and I'm from Hungary. My first nature planted tank is just about to start! I've been collecting knowledge and technical stuff for the past 6 months. It's been crazy, because I'm usually super impatient, but this time I knew I have to wait.
My first post here and unfortunately it has to be about the outbreak of algae I'm currently having!
I've had my tank setup for around 8 months now, with fish in for around 6 months and up until around 2 weeks ago, virtually algae free!
It's a Rio 180L.
I have 4 T8 30W bulbs...
Thought that I'd post my newest scape to the forum to see what you guys think of it!
Tank specs are...
45x26x26cm - 30l
Lights - 2x24w T5
Filtration - Rena XP3 - 1350 lph (bit overkill I know but I already had it!)
CO2 - Pressurised 4bps - Up Aqua inline diffuser
Substrate - ADA...
