Heads up for anyone that still has a first generation iPod Nano lurking in the back of a drawer, down the back of a sofa, in the dog somewhere. Even if it is dead.

Apple are offering a free replacement due to an issue over the battery. All you need to do is put your serial number into;

They sent me a jiffy bag to stick said iPod into and returned a brand-spanking-new current generation Nano 8)

Tempted to head off and buy 100 refurb ipod nanos on ebay and return them all. Something'll go wrong though

How long did Apple take to send out a new one to you? I returned mine a week before xmas but no show yet.
