Hi

long Story short, fell for the death orb which then got a leak and resulted in me getting 2 more (fleabay specials) to save what fish were left.

since then taken the plunge and have 2 tanks going through the cycle (Ada 60x45 and an ea 900) both running Oase 600t with inline co2, both planted but not too heavily.

current stock is:
2 female guppies
5 neons
6 glow tetras
4 platties plus 5 fry

would prefer to keep all existing stock in the Ada with a few otto’s and then stock from fresh the 900. My water is hard, ph around 7.4.

so questions:
is the Ada sufficient in size for all my existing stock?
any suggestions for the 900, looking for shoaling fish?

cheers

Soon to be 9 platies plus 25 (and increasing) fry ;)

If you keep livebearers, keep males only (the females may arrive pregnant and with quite a bit of stored sperm for multiple broods), or keep with fish that will eat the fry, or select an ultra fancy line (fertility is often greatly reduced, also lower rate of fry survival even when given optimum conditions) or have good relations with a local shop that will take your juveniles (note most shops will require decent size and nicely coloured fish (or will be moving them on as feeders))

I’d probably add several more neons for a shoal :), similarly your glow light tetras would prefer a larger group

Depending which plants are in the back, I’d add some Vallisneria nana or Cyperus helferi etc to provide some cover for fish

(unfortunately there seems to be no video forthcoming o_O )
