Before i start my journal,i have landed a 7x2x2.The question is would 4x39watt t5's in a diy hood spread wide and end to
end be enough for a low light co2 set up, or would that light be far to much?I intend to grow all types of plants including
carpet,mosses.or would t8's be a better option.

Thanks mark.

Not an expert, but isn't it easier to reduce output (remove a tube, use gauze, or floating plants, reduce period) than increase it?

What I'm saying is I'd lean towards the t5s, as if you find that t8s aren't coping with the 2 foot depth you'll have to replace them, but if the t5s are too powerful I'm sure you can find a way to reduce the power.

Sounds like a fantastic tank, whichever way you go, can't wait to see it!!
