Afternoon,

Had a little play about with some rocks and wood today.

Let me know you think. Sofa is to the right hand side of the tank which is the main viewing position with a door to the left hand side.

I do plan to possibly add a second tier to the right hand side but not sure.

Any suggestions welcome as its been a while.

Thanks

I would add more wood and smaller rocks. When adding more wood, try to fill the frame with more towards the top of the tank (with wood).

A lot of the wood and rocks will disappear once planted. It's not bold enough right now IMO imagine when planted.

The foreground is very empty atm. I would add more rocks to get more layers in there. Right now the hardscape feels like a 'family photo', with the hardscape placed from left to right.

I think I would push the whole hardscape right now more towards the foreground.

Try to get some shadows in their under the wood.

I don't like the shape of the piece of wood in the middle at the background.

If you have enough patience just keep on tweaking it will get better over time. Changes now are easier compared to when the water is in. Don't rush is my advice.

Appreciate the comments Nigel. Completely agree with not rushing. Don't plan to fill for at least another month. With the wood do you mean the 1 piece that is pointing upwards towards the right? I wasn't sure of that bit either.

Plant wise I plan to only plant above the rocks. With the front fairly empty with only some dwarf hair grass and a few plants in the gaps/cracks of the rock.

I do have 6/7 smaller rocks to add to the front. The structure on the left hand side is about 130mm height.

Thanks again

So still playing about with the scale. Bought a few more rocks and some additional wood. Below is the outcome. Still not too happy with the rocks on the right hand side at the front. Think I'm happy with the 'Valley' part.

Any suggestions as I'm hoping to start securing the rock in place next weekend?

Hi. Much better with more woods and stones. Left hand side rocks are good, right hand side, I would move the large piece next to the valley, just more accentuated that, and I would rotate the stones that the layers are horizontal like on the left hand side. Also I would move the right hand side piece of wood close to the other one and I would lay it a bit down to the stones, just make levels in the tank.
Anyway, it s better already with more elements of the hardscape
