so now about the issues.. at some point 2 weeks back I realized that whatever I have in my water, and whatever is in APT3 complete fertilization slur there was not enough potassium delivered to my water column. The first signs were of my Rotala bonsai and Alternanthera started melting from the bottom, could not figure it out until I spotted GSA popping up on my Anubias. Got potassium about 1.5 weeks ago and I'm now dosing 4ml daily (Seachem potassium) along with the APT3 complete 9ml daily. Melting stopped, GSA stopped.. getting back on track as that error wiped out 50% of my Rotala Indica Bonsai and 30% of Alternanthera reineckii mini.

Green'ish dust is covering the glass from the inside now on the 3rd day after WC, but all I can do about it is to keep up with the regular maintenance sessions. I'm afraid to cut back on ferts yet..

Other than that I can't complain much, I have put back the light to 75% of its power, 30min ramp up and down with a total of 7 hrs in a day. Water changes 2 times a week - 40% mid-week, 50-60% on the maintenance day. KH issue was nicely fixed by adding Seachem Alkaline Buffer to RO water, keeping it at 3-4KH, with this I can keep my PH at 6.3-6.4 with the controller that I have now also put on a timer. Kicks in at 8Am and turns off 30min before the lights fade out. In the morning my PH usually is at 6.8-6.9 but it picks up in an hour or so (because an external reactor is a very cool piece of equipment to have) to 6.3-6.4 and keeps it up for the rest of the day.

Thanks for reading :)

Gorgeous setup and planting!
thank you

Enjoying this @Lauris. Having the same tank it's good to see a different rendition. 👍
could not find yours on the forum, maybe I'm just lame at searching 🤓
.. but the tank is lovely, I like the dimensions, as it gives a great depth and height for 90cm.. plenty of space to play with the hardscape

Not worth going on a new log, but a little update here - to be exact 10L update.

The multiple tank syndrome is back.. Fluval 10L home office desktop tank. This will be my entertainment for office hours (since working only from home).

I will go low-tech, hopefully, I can get away with the original Fluval light, if I will get used to it. 7K for my eyes is too blue
Hardscape made of whatever was in my shed.. ADA Amazonia as the first layer, then some Plata sand and river stones.. +made a tiny cave for shrimps to have a little hiding place (it is about 8cm long and 2,5cm in diameter PVC tube, stuffed with some filter mesh media at the far end). 2 pieces of wood. In terms of planting, I will probably pull out a good bunch of Hygrophila pinnatifida, some anubias nana, and some buce from my main scape + some moss.

Water RO + minerals to bring it back to 120-140tds, + KH boosted to have it at 1-2. Will probably do weekly lean dosing with APT3 Complete + Excel flourish (a minimum) daily. Light.. not sure.. probably this one can shoot 8 hours straight if not more.. Media was pulled out from the main tank. I had to cut the middle of the foam out and put in Seachem Matrix increasing the "by design" bioload 3-3,5 times (the tiny Fluval bioload bag that came with it was just ridiculous).. Hopefully, with this, it will cycle quickly.

First will go in 2 yellow shrimps from my main scape if I will catch them before they burst their eggs. Later I hope to settle for BCS and maybe for a few tiny winy fancy and shrimp-friendly fish..

Not sure if shrimps like much of having 19c degrees, but I was having an idea of keeping this one without a heater (room T is 19 at the heating season and 19-22 all other times)

A wee shrimp spec.

My home office space.. now topped up nicely with the nano thing for shrimps to distract me

The branch outside the water will be occupied by one of the hose plants.. hopefully with the EPIPREMNUM PINN. 'GOLDEN POTHOS'

That's it, thanks for visiting :)

The shrimp maternity was planted today.

Plants all from the main scape + snipped Golden Pothos from my wife's shelf :)

Tested this morning.. ammonia 0, nitrites 0.25.. would that be an effect of x3 more bioload from my main filter? Not even a mini-cycle?
Poured some fish food in today to let it sink in.. see if that changes anything.. but the parameters were suspiciously low.

another 2 weeks behind. 10 weeks since it was planted.

Can't complain much, as I do enjoy it. Does not take much effort either.
1x 50% wc every Wednesday morning, and 1 full maintenance session with changing around 60'ish % of the water every Saturday.

This slowly starts to mature.

Another one..

This time testing a new baby camera. we got a new addition to our Canon family with Canon EOS R5. First-time mirrorless.. I have to say it is impressive as most of the close-ups are shot at 3200 iso and no grain reduction is used in post-processing. These all shot with Sigma 105 2.8 DG macro. 45 MP helps too as you can crop the hell out of the photo

I need to get a new mirrorless camera
Oh... I must say it is SOMETHING!! I did not plan for it and my preference always was 5dMark iii or 1D-x (both are real work horses and I own both for years - all you need to do is replace shutter when due and it just keeps going) I was sceptical to mirrorless at first... until I got my hands on this one.. 😍😍😍

yea! I am a Nikon shooter with a D750 since 2015. In the next year or so I need to make the upgrade to mirrorless and try one of the Sony or Nikon mirrorless cameras. the technology has advanced so far ahead.
