Does Old Iron Wood need to be soaked before use? I'm not sure if it will float or not, but is it OK for tannins?

    Cheers,
    Tom

nope, mine sank straight away :D It has released a bit of tannin but not as much as normal bogwood although some of that colour may have been from the africana so cant confirm.

very little coloration which goes away very quickly. heavier, thicker pieces sank immediatelly. thin pieces may will float, but this is a heavy wood and sank much easier then any other like red moor, borneo etc.
