I purchased an AI Hydra 26 to replace my failing Arcadia LED luminaire which effectively burnt out. I have been using it about 6 months and I use it with practically no blue LED illumination. I have no real problem with plants growing apart from an Anubias Barteri which I cut back to a stem after it practically took over my 270 litre tank. It has started to recover but all the leaves are “bonsaied” for the want of a better word. The tank is CO injected and other plants grow like crazy especially my Nymphae Lotus.
The tank is quite deep (65 cm) so I needed something that produces a lot of light and the AI Hydra was recommended to me. I know that it is primarily for Marine use but can be tweaked for Planted aquaria.
Could the Anubias be affected by the new lighting or is it my fault for cutting it back too harshly ?
Have other members used this type of lighting for planted tanks ? If so have they experienced issues similar to this.
