Air Pumps

Hi again
I was wondering is it a good idea to use an air pump in the aquarium. I have CO2 so really it would be
for decoration purposes.

Any surface agitation will increase the rate at which gas exchanges between the water and atmosphere. So the CO2 will lost at a quicker rate. That's why airstones are rare in planted tanks. I believe some users run them when the lights are off though, to agitate the surface.
