Alternative to Do!Aqua Branch Light

AquaVitro is producing quite decent materials, with a good rate quality/price. Definitively much less priced than Do!Aqua. I like too some of the stuff that Tropica does. The tweezers from them are really good. :)

Sorry, I missed the word "light" in your post, Andy D... and thought you were asking for aquascaping tools. :dead:

Good question Andy... But unfortunately without a good answer. I also struggled to find something similar. The Do!Aqua one is beautiful but too much expensive and moreover it does not including LED technology (!). I did a lot of research and I finally ended up with a handmade model made for me (by a friend of mine who is an artisan). You can see it in this journal: http://www.ukaps.org/forum/threads/new-nano-vivarium.33490/

I remember a thread here in UKAPS where someone had changed the LED unit in a cheap IKEA lamp to have enough lumens to grow a wabi-kusa. There was a link in German explaining in detail how to do it... But I'm not sure if it is safe to modify these units like this.

In my next projects I will use this lamp (http://www.blau-aquaristic.com/nano-led-light.html) which was in my 25 liters tank. Have a look to it because it is not that expensive, it is dimmeable in two channels (one of the channels control reds and whites, and another only whites, therefore it allows changing colour temperature and power output) and you can always use it afterwards in a tank.
