If so which sub-species and what is the best way of limiting its (so far) very healthy growth?

Thanks Hoggie - I had looked at this possibility and overlooked it, but I think you're absolutely right. If there's anyone out there who also grows it, any recommendation on how big you should let it go so as to avoid it becoming too big and dominating the tank?

I think when to trim will come down to personal preference, if you like the "jungle" type look when they are up at the surface then you can keep them that length, or if you want it a bit shorter you can do that, or even go for a really trimmed and tidy aquascape look. Its all up to you and its a very forgiving and quick growing plant.

Went for the mid-length halfway-house approach - however am thinking about doing the really trimmed and tidy attempt next!
