Thanks for the link Richard.

It is great that these use less electricity. It also says that the LED's last 10 years, so that saves considerable money over the years as well.

From what I read the 12w is equal to a 24w T5, but thats only from what I have read.

George has :) there is a post somewhere with them before he went off to Afghan, but i think that tank no longer exists.

LED's are def the way forward. Looks like you need approx half the LED wattage than you'd need for T5's. i.e

24w T5 = 12w LED
120w T5 = 60w LED

That sound about right?

I saw 10 banks of LEDs on a Discus setup at the FoF, its the only time I've seen a very clear shadow of a fish on the substrate!
Bit expensive but they are the mutt's nutts for lighting I think.
