Can't quite figure out how that would work with a fish tank though. By the looks of it water overflows down to the next level so if you are constanly pumping water in surely that same water is just overflowing back to the tank? I can't see any benefit to the tank.

The plant wall is fed by and filters the tank water. Best for an unplanted tank. Bit like adding pothos to tanks to add extra biological filtration.

Gotta love the way the pump return pipe just half clips loosely to the pot at the top - just waiting to slip out and deposit the entire water volume over the floor

That was my first thought but when you look at it I don't think it does that much. The water doesn't look to pass through the plants particularly. There is a small reservoir for each pot that overflows to the next level and it looks like water comes in where the overflow is so I would have thought that most the water coming out is the same that went in.

Pothos has it's roots in the tank so I see how that helps.
