Ive just seen the AquaGro CO2 kit on practical fish keeping.
i found it for just £10 and was tempted to buy one but are they any good?
Any one used them before?
I found it here:http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/item.php?news=1984

There are a few similar products to this one, like the optimat one. Try a forum search and you'll quickly see what people think of them ;)

The biggest problem with these systems is that there is no way of controlling the amount of CO2 added to the tank and if you are not there to refill the chamber the tank could be without co2 for a while, which is likely to lead algae. The refills ain't cheap either.

If it were me I'd get a nutrafin yeast based system and use a DIY mix -

1/2 teaspoon of bakers yeast
fill to first 'fin' with sugar
fill to second 'fin' with lukewarm water
Change weekly.

Simple.

Sam

EDIT - I assume its for a small tank?

Its for a 21 gallon tank. i think il stick with because im on budget being a student as well.

Im currently trying to create a HC Cover in the tank.
