Morning all,

Well yesterday I took the plunge and ordered an Evolution Aqua Aquascaper 900, not sure if I am able to say or promote the company that I have ordered with, so at this stage I wont. Unfortunately my new order euphoria wasn't long lived, as received correspondence today that Evolution Aqua are in the mist of changing suppliers and this is causing delays that cannot supply until february/march. I have no reason to doubt the seller, and I appreciate there communication and honesty. They have given me the option to cancel and a full refund, but I thought that I would put this out there to you guys to see if anyone else has experienced the same. I really like the combination of quality/affordability so I think im going to wait it out for now.....

Furthermore, if like me you are planning a new scape around this tank, you may wish wish to re-think if your not prepared to wait. My problem is that I want everything yesterday and have all this shiny new equipment and gear and nothing to put it in lol.

Happy new year guys n gals
Regards
Paul

I’m waiting also.

The above link explains the transfer of the Aquascaper tank range to D-D. Long term this should be of massive benefit to the aquascaping community. D-D are a specialist well run company that are committed to the hobby. They also have global reach so people from outside the UK will hopefully have access to the brand.

Glass/silicone work will stay the same quality. Expect some minor changes in cabinet options.

From what I understand glass supply has been delayed due to the ship/container issues at UK ports. Supply shouldn’t be too far off (March?). This is not too far off really. Hopefully D-D will be in a position to publish the pricing and cabinet specs shortly.

🤞😃

As above, D-D are a great company with a huge product lineup and (especially in the marine/reef area) so as long as they don't hike up the price then can only be a good thing.

You could try ringing around to see if anyone has any stock in ready to ship if you don't want to wait.

Thanks for the additonal information gents, and its pleasing to know that this could be the transition of something good for our hobby. I am aware of D-D way back when I was running a reef tank, and as you have mentioned they come with a good reputation. I have ordered tank only, as the boss wants to keep the unit it will be situated on, who am I too argue if I get the tank I wanted ;) Therefore, any changes in the cabinets is not relevent to me personally.

I havent tried ringing around, but i did quite an extensive search online and virtually all suppliers appear to be out of stock.

On the plus side I suppose this waiting period gives me no excuses for not doing enough research and preperation....

I think that is because most retailers don't phsically stock them, they order them for you essentially. That's because you usually get a call from the manufacturer a week or so after placing the order to arrange delivery.

Yes that makes sense, I have already received an email from the seller advisng the same, and that we hopefully will have an update week commencing 04th Jan

Not sure if anyone has heard anymore on these delays but I got a response from D-D stating they plan to collect the materials and stock from EA by the end of the month with an aim to start shipping mid feb! hope this hasn`t changed
as some tank builders are quoting 20 weeks!

I havent had any news from my stockist yet, I was going to give it till the end of this week and email for an update

Fair enough - the reason I contacted them was I called a stockist last Thursday and they had no idea what was going on - they where just waiting to hear........
