I'm setting up my tank and am thinking of this light combo
Arcadia ibar with 14000k marine White and Arcadia plant pro 6 hour photo period
Arcadia I bar with plant pro and original tropical 2 hour blast
all 54 watt t5's
my tank is 5foot by 2foot by 30inches
my reasoning behind the marine White is the higher output for the
extra depth.
Can anyone see any potential problems?
Will plant growth be ok?

Many thanks in advance

Hi,
So are we talking 220W T5 in total over a 200 US gallon Tank? If so sounds pretty reasonable to me. I see no reason you'd have difficulty unless your flow, distribution, maintenance practices, CO2 or nutrient dosing are inadequate. If inadequate then yes, you could have lots of problems. Assuming these other factors are fine, the lighting you've selected will also be fine and growth will be fine.

Cheers,

Many thanks for your reply
will be dosing tpn 15ml daily
two eheim 2075 filters
1 filter will have external co2 reactor fitted on output to spraybar
positioned at the middle back of tank
other filter will have directional outlets one at each back corner
think I might need to add a koralia or two but will see how it goes first
can't have flow too poweful as this is a discus tank
what do you think?
All ok?

Yep, looks real good to me. I assume you mean 15 ml daily TPN+ and not just the TPN right? Can't see any weaknesses in that plan mate.

Cheers,

Yes 15ml daily but just tpn not + as going to
be fairly well stocked with fish, would you
still recomend Tpn+ then

Well, the lighting is levelheaded so you won't be driving fast nutrient uptake rates which is good. With high stocking levels it's worth a try just using the TPN micro mix. See how it goes mate. You can add NPK if you start to see issues develop. :angelic:

Cheers,

Thanks for all your help
that's put my mind at rest that lighting will be ok
might just get some tpn+ as well
many thanks

You're welcome. 8) Remember that if you use TPN+ you don't need to add TPN because TPN+ is just TPN with a bit of added N, P and K.

Cheers,
