Best moss for Kokedama/ wabi kusa?

Hi I'm just wondering what the best option is to cover the outside of a kokedama moss ball?
Are indigenous British forest mosses better use than say java moss for example?
(any pros and cons?...).

I use a small stone wrapped with a good amount of any moss (Sphagnum or any local moss... This is the one for having the volume you want) and then wrapped with a thin layer of any aquatic moss (whatever species you like, probably the most common and cheap such as Java moss). All tied.. And that's all.
