Some of my plants. I never could grow Pogostemon helferi before it always melted. My LFS said plant the whole tissue culture in middle of tank about a inch deep and leave it be. He was right I had almost no melting and it’s growing. I have really been taking my time with this tank. High co2 , high ferts, and med light. Light is my only limited factor. I have it up raised as high as it will go. Doing water changes 2x a week. Really no algae a few thread algae but is quickly going away.

Hi @Bryce I'm not sure if a rock is a good place for P. Helferi, it's not an epiphyte and its roots should be buried in the substrate.

There are a few threads or journals where other users have successfully grown it on wood / rocks.
There’s a tropica video on YouTube showing it in the wild, I believe it grows as an epithyte on rocks in fast flowing streams.

cheers

Conor

Didn't knew that and Tropica actually mentions it needs rich substrate, I 'm curious of @Bryce 's results then.

Yeah I’m honestly not sure how or if it will work out. The only reason I think it might is I sort of stumbled on it by accident. I found a few had broken loose and were growing great inside the rice patty plant. I was like wow they look great I wonder what would happen if I super glued them to a big round lava rock. If they grow in that would look fantastic. So will see.
