Hi guys, hope you're all enjoying the sun.

Are the above suitable for a planted tank? Are they good algae cleaners?
Cheers

if you have wood and plants and suffering from algae and your tank is tropical
with no predator type of fish i would go for a common brown bristle nose for
removing algae i have a few of them and find they do a great job

i agree find the cause of the algae an you will kill the algae

I keep a small group of these in my 700l, they have been fine it seems for 6 months or so. I would not say generally that these are fine for planted tanks, but I do have high water turn over with Koralia and Ecotech powerheads in addition to an Eheim 2180, I have algae covered cobbles, I do inject with CO2 , but moderately and the temp stat is set at 22c although the water can get to 24c.

Pretty feisty little fellas, when it comes to food and thier favourate rock hangouts they arent scared of chasing off much larger fish.
