Can you do the yogurt method with Marino moss balls?

Sorry if it’s a stupid question and I’m guessing the answer is no but may as well ask. Got one of those mini complete tanks and would like to cover one of my rocks in moss and like the look of the Marimos and feel like it would fit well.
