Simple question, can you use cotton to plug gaps between rocks to stop soil falling through? Or does it have to be a synthetic material? Cotton is all i have to hand at the moment.
Make sure you have a bag of filter lava up to 4 cm in size.. Than build/stack litte wall of this behind the hardscape.
Its pretty coarse in shape and if placed when interllocked its earthquake proof. If needed use a drop of superglue to fix it in place.
First the base layer of lava rock as a dam.. Poar in substrate to the same level, next pieces of lava rocks go in, again fill it up with substrate.. Layer for layer till the gap is covered.
Best of if in view for a bit, glew moss to it, its a perfect substrate.. Hence Baby tears will attach to it. Can't get more perfect than this. Awfully cheap awfully effective.
Also whats in view. put some superglue to it and brush it in with the substrate. Than you coat it with a layer of this to mask it.
