Hi,

Am new here , thanx for such great forum.

I live in Syria and I bought from a local pet store aqua seeds hoping that I can grow a nice green carpet . but the guy sold me the seeds knew nothing about them. so I decided to dry plant some in plastic containers and later check the types online. but that was very confusing . can you please help ? I don’t want to end up with fake plants that will die as soon as they are flooded .

Note : I placed Numbers on the pictuers to help in your replies.

Thanx looking forword for your replies and establishing my 600Litre Planted Aquarium

Hi all,
placed Numbers on the pictuers to help in your replies.
Number one is from the Brassicaceae, the seed leaves (coyledons) have characteristic shape. My guess is that it will be a vegetable seed (like Radish (Raphanus sativus) or Mustard (Sinapsis alba)) because the seed is cheap, has good germination and comes up really quickly.

We have a few threads <"with these types of seeds">.

cheers Darrel

I suggest you flood them in the small containers. That way, if they die they will not mess up your aquarium. If they, or some of them, survive you can move them into the tank later.

I did so today ... :( . it was disapointing that such seeds are most likely fake .
I got new ones today , showing " Glossostigma elatinoides" & " Hemianthus callitrichoides" . package picture in the attachements .
