Christmas Moss Trimming

Hi, I have superglued some Xmas moss onto some bog wood. When is the best time to start trimming it back so that it spreads over the wood? Immediately? Wait for new growth first? Any help appreciated.

Hiya bill. Id wait until you start seeing some fresh new growth first.
Did you just stick a clump in one spot mate or spread it out as much as you could??

I spread it out a frond at a time.
