I have some long hoses I use for water changes with a pump from the kitchen sink. The hose is around 8meters long but its going back with mold on the inside
What is the best way to clean a long hose like this?
Often find its simpler to replace the hose, once the Algae has got a hold it will likey soon return if its just wiped cleaned internally .
With new hoses, when finshed with your W/C drain all the water out of the hoses an place so they can internally dry out fully, so reducing any chance of the Algae forming.
Continuously pump a warm bleach solution through the hose to "clean" it (Pump and open end of the hose in the same container)? Then pump through a fresh water to give it a rinse?
It’s probably just algae, and if the hose wasn’t clear you’d never think about it. I have a shorter siphon hose with algae in it and I just use it that way.
