Hi,

Anyone got any usefull tips on cleaning the white scaley deposits off of glass. I've got some old tanks to clean up and I usually end up with a stanly blade scraping it off but its a real pain in the you know where and a job I detest doing.

Is there a chemical that I can apply to make it easier? The tanks are bare at the moment so livestock isn't an issue.

Regards, Chris.

Hi Neil,

Thanks for that link mate on there they suggest vinegar but i tried it before but without a great deal of success. I was talking to a glasier the other day and he recomended caustic soda but thats surely a bit severe for a fish tank and not sure of the effect on the silicone. Still its along the same lines of using somthing acidic.

Regards, Chris.
