Co2 Cylinder Servicing!

Re- fills are one thing, services are another thing altogether.

Every 10 years, co2 fire extinguishers need to be "overhauled". This means the valve is removed and replaced, and the internals are pressure tested. This is a ridiculous procedure, so nobody ever does it. They just scrap their FEs after 10 years and buy new.
Why do you you want your cylinders checked for valve faults- are they over 10 years old?

Hi Sacha
No not over 10 years old....a couple have a fault where some Co2 comes out around the turn wheel when opened.
Although Im no expert...on Cylinder valves.
Cheers

If the cylinder valve is leaking then it shouldn't be filled. If it leaks when you turn it, it wont be long before it leaks when its not been turned.
The valve will need replacing and this will invalidate the test because the cylinder is tested with the valve fitted. So it will need to be retested which will cost about the same as a new cylinder, so its not really worth it. You may be able to use it to get a small discount on a refurbished cylinder but you would have to find somewhere local that you can take it to. If it were a pub bottle or fe it would be much easier to find somewhere to use it as discount on a refurbished/new cylinder

I use the aforementioned 10 year old FEs that are going to get thrown out anyways. Empty them and then throw them away and get a new one. I get them for free because they're going to get thrown in the dump anyways. :D
