I have a plan for this summer maybe later this year due to house purchase to have large tank downstairs finally but in mean time I wanted to experiment with some co2 in small cube tank, I had a look at the ista/fluval/tropica nano kits price very from £40-£100 and wonder if the cost is worth it giving my plans or would I be better of going fire extinguisher route.

If I'm correct need about 2kg bottle £20-£30
Regulator - now I'm bit confused, I had a look at Aquarium Gardens for example and there is pro se and pro elite £120-£220, could I go with pro se? or maybe someone can recommend something else
Diffuser - thinking for now using the twinstar small in nano cube
Drop Checker £15
Tubing 3m -£5.99

I had a look on co2 supermarket site where they do nano co2 kit with solenoid and 95g cartridge but that is £150 I don't think this would be the best financial investment.

Planned tank will be EA900 in future

If I went with the cheap ista co2 only thing worry me no solenoid so won't be able to set this like 1h before lights ect. and due to work would have to leave this on all the time. Is this even safe for live stock? I don't have co2 demanding plants right now but might be able to sort something one or maybe will some improvement with current setup.

What do you think?

@Mark Nicholls Thanks, just had a good read of your article, looks like the best way would be the regulator with extinguisher or sodastream bottle, still got bit more reading to do regards co2 otherwise I would just be all the gear and no idea :)

Only problem with paintball is that sodastream canisters are much more readily available, being sold even in places like asda and argus whereas paintball is far more specialised.
