This may be a stupid question, and shoot me down if it is...

Instead of yeast/sugar mixes in DIY co2, is there a downfall to hooking up a bottle of coke to the system? After all, its full of co2 and dropping something into the bottle like an alka-seltzer would cause a good stream of co2. Am i daft?

This could be a rather expensive option, just think if you were going to use carbonated drinks value fizzy water might be better. Even cheaper in the long run maybe you could pick up a cheap soda stream machine at a car booty :)

People even used to add soda water directly to their tanks.
